How we got here!

I'm sure we are not the only family to deal with pay cuts the last couple of years in St. Louis but this is a little bit about how we are dealing with them. My husband, Chris, and I have three beautiful little kids. Their ages are 6, 4, and 2. We struggle with money like most families but they got a lot worse as we learned that my husband will be taking a $20,000 pay cut as he losses his commission checks for work. If that wasn't enough to put our penney pinchers on, I just recently found out that my part time hours are getting cut and I will be making $300 less a month. To top it all off, I was told that my position might no longer be needed next year if the economy does not get any better. Yikes! So how can a family of 5 that already pinches pennies possibly cut even more back. So this begins our journey of how we are going to manage to save money yet still have fun. The best thing of all is that we live in a city that is full of fun free things to do! I will have to add that we are from St. Charles County so many of the things will be near our home but there will still be many other things in cities all around ours. So I hope I can teach you a few things as we learn to cut costs even more!
