Yes, I am one of those moms who won't take my kids to the movies as soon as they come out. I just cannot justify to myself paying $8 a ticket or whatever they are now (thats how long its been since I've been to the movies). So here is the cheap way to still take your kids out. During the summer and winter most movie theaters put on free family movies for the kids. No, they aren't the new release movies, but the kids can still get a kick out of seeing a movie at the theater. And to keep it free, I will throw in some snacks into the diaper bag for the kids to munch on.
We will also splearge every once in a while and watch a movie at the dollar show. It costs us each a dollar to get in then we all share a large popcorn and large soda since they both have free refills. This is a splurge night out for us and still keeps the costs under $15 for all 5 of us!
